I have a Moca-expresso coffee pot. My roommate who was a barista asked if I had something to press the coffee down, a "coffee tamp".
This turned into a fun hour long project. It is in no way impressive but each morning it continues to make me happy and that is why I include it.
The base was turned from a scrap piece of brass. The handle was turned from a piece of cast acrylic rod. Cast acrylic is a lot easier to machine than extruded acrylic. A few drops of cynaoacrylate glue was used to attach the handle to the brass.
