Steam Punk Goggles
New Years Eve 2007, some friends and I were going to a Steam Punk party put on by Monkey Puzzle. It was a formal Steam Punk party so I wore a tie, button up shirt and my welding jacket. I also wanted to add some Goggles to the costume. So with 2 hours before the party I threw these goggles together. I actually turned a piece of acrylic to make the lens in the right eye. The brass and the copper were also turned on the lathe. I think I get geek points for "machining" my costume the day of the event. There is a single orange LED behind the lens. The gears came from the CD player from my truck, luckily I kept all the pieces after it broke. This was an extremely quick project. I include it because of the number of comments I got when people noticed the gear were turning on the side of my head.
