Fractured Series #1
Photo enhanced to show detail
With 4 days left in 2007 I decided to work on an idea I’ve been kicking around for a while.
I made 3 square frames from a bed frame I found on the side of the road, they were 6", 8" and 10" square. I wrapped them in sheet metal from a dilapidated horse trailer. They were then put in a environmentally friendly rust removal bath.
The spheres and oval were cold formed with a hammer. The tears I then filled with multiple layers of heat formed acrylic glass. Each frame has 7-12 LEDs in various colors. I tested the energy use; they each run between 2-3 watts, which would use approximately $2.00 worth of electricity per year.
The 8" one is currently for sale. Contact me for more information. LostMachine@gmail.com
