Disco Chicken

Disco Chicken (unfinished) The Disco Chicken started as an idea to build a Rhombic Dodecahedron. 12 parallelograms were cut out of 3/16" steel plate. I held the pieces together with gorilla tape for welding. After the Rhombic Dodecahedron was finished it looked like it needed a face. I welded on a beak and cut holes for huge eyes. Using an electric oven I heat formed the eyes out of acrylic glass. Several layers were glued together to add depth. LED lights were added to the inside, a microphone controls allows the lights to change to the beat of the music. I have plans to add acrylic wings with more LEDs or there is the possibility of making wings using flame effects. I did bring the unfinished Disco Chicken to one event where some old sheets were used for wings.
