For winter Solstice I gave my little sister this art piece. It has a maternal feel with a wonderful blue and purple LEDs embeded in the "belly". The frame is welded out of 3/16" plate steel. The opening in the middle was created with a raising hammer and a 20 ton hydraulic press. The texture of the steel was created by etching the steel in a corrosive saltwater bath with the addition of 9amp current at 12 volts.
