My name is Andy Tibbetts aka LostMachine I grew up in Lake Tahoe California.
I moved to Portland, Oregon in 2003 and received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Portland State University in 2008.
Growing up in a town with mostly seasonal jobs allowed me to try out a lot of things. To this day I am always looking for new things to learn. Some of my past jobs include: hardware store clerk, chairlift mechanic, heavy equipment operator, explosives work, night club owner, helicopter transport of construction equipment, home construction foreman, computer systems administrator, math tutor, clean room tool installation, precision tig welder, machinist, civil engineer, and structural engineer.
I have always built things, construction is a habit, and happiness comes from making something that didnít exist before. I have always enjoyed working with metals, plastics, light and many other mediums. I am constantly looking for new tools and new materials to work with. Most everything I build is heavy; delicacy in design is not in my nature.
LostMachine was an idea I had back in 1999 it wasnít until 2001 that I purchased the domain name for the site and it wasnít until 2003 that the site has been active. I wanted to create an online project journal documenting my creations. Years went by numerous objects for art and function were created, sold or given away with no other record of their existence. LostMachine is a witness, my own personal construction record for those projects.
